Amelia Phommachanh

Amelia Phommachanh is an incredible 17-year-old youth advocate and Ambassador based in Palmerston. She has represented young people as a Ambassador for Headspace, a member of the 2025 Northern Territory Youth Round Table, and the Northern Territory's representative on the Federal Government's Mental Health Youth Advisory Group.

Her lived experience, both as a young person and growing up in a remote community, has shaped her understanding of the challenges youth face, particularly in relation to community, education, and health services, and how these interconnected areas directly impact mental health and wellbeing. Her genuine care and powerful narrative have helped ensure that young people's voices are heard and respected in decision making spaces.

Bringing over four years of youth advocacy experience, Amelia is currently working to map mental health agencies to make information regarding services more accessible. She also aims to create youth certifications for services.

She's also school Captain at Mackillop College, an artist, volunteer, gamer and a content creator in her free time.
