Growing up in Alice Springs, I saw firsthand the challenges young people face when navigating the healthcare system. Knowing where to seek help, understanding available services and feeling confident to ask questions isn't always easy, particularly in regional and remote communities.
These experiences inspired my passion for health education and continue to shape the way I advocate for young people today.
To me, health is about more than treating illness, it's about empowering young people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their wellbeing. Throughout my work so far, I've seen how access to trusted information can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
As the Secretary of the Northern Territory Youth Round Table (NTRYT) 2026 and a Youth Ambassador with the Central Youth Advocacy Network. I have the opportunity to promote health literacy, raise awareness of youth support services, and advocate for young people's voices to be heard in decisions that affect their health and wellbeing. As an emerging registered nurse and youth advocate, I hope to bridge the gap between healthcare services and the young people who need them most, particularly in regional and remote communities.
I'm passionate about creating healthier futures by improving health literacy, reducing barriers to care, and empowering young people to take an active role in their health.
"Empowering young people through knowledge, compassion and advocacy creates healthier communities because every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive."
