Lejla Sinanovic

Lejla Sinanovic is an incredible young advocate based in Sydney. She has extensive advocacy experience, representing her community on the NSW Minister's Student Council alongside other students to help improve wellbeing and learning across NSW schools. She also is involved in her school's Student Representative Council, the Canterbury-Bankstown Youth Advisory Board, and the Cancer Council NSW SunSmart Youth Advisory Council. In Year 6, she represented her peers as school captain and has continued to develop her leadership since then.

Lejla has actively engaged in community service through volunteering with St John Ambulance, and the initiative Kids Giving Back which supports people experiencing financial hardship.

Lejla is passionate about ensuring that all young people are heard, included, and confident in decision making spaces. She sees advocacy begins with listening to and understanding different perspectives before working with others to create meaningful change.

In her free time, Lejla is a competitive swimmer, and enjoys practicing taekwondo, playing the piano and violin, and spending time with her family and friends.
