We’re looking for current members of the Central Youth Advocacy Network to take on four important leadership roles within our Executive Committee!
Social Media Coordinator
Coordinate a team of volunteers to create engaging posts, reels and stories that promote the network and its work. Content may include educational posts about advocacy, insights into the issues young people care about, member spotlights and updates on CYAN’s projects. There will also be plenty of flexibility to bring your own ideas to the role.
This is a flexible role requiring approximately one to two hours each week.
Network Journalist
Help amplify the voices of Central Youth Advocacy Network members by sourcing biographies and photos, writing articles for our blog, and encouraging other young people to contribute articles of their own.
You will work closely with the Social Media Coordinator and have opportunities to involve other volunteers. You will also help promote opportunities for young advocates, share members’ perspectives through media, and build relationships with other youth-led media initiatives.
This is a flexible role requiring approximately one to two hours each week.
Secretary
Support the effective operation of the Steering Committee by helping to prepare meeting agendas, attending meetings, taking detailed minutes and keeping meetings on time.
You will work with the Chair and Engagement and Partnerships Coordinator to plan meetings that reflect the network’s priorities and members’ interests. After each meeting, you will distribute the minutes and clearly identify any agreed action items.
This is a flexible role requiring approximately two to three hours each month.
Financial Officer
Help manage CYAN’s finances by identifying funding opportunities, preparing funding applications, and developing budgets for expenses such as advertising, events, software and youth consultations. You will also help monitor funding agreements and ensure key reporting and renewal deadlines are met.
This role will generally require a minimal time commitment, although additional involvement may be needed when funding agreements expire or new applications are due.
If you are interested on one of these roles, please email info@centralyouthadvocacynetwork.org answering the following questions:
Why are you interested in the role?
What previous experience have you had in this area?
How would you manage the time committment?
How would you make the role your own?
Feel free to attach a resume or cover letter, however, this is not required.
